 Our new Director of Children's Ministry, Elizabeth Freidberg, is no stranger to First Presbyterian Church, having served as our full-time Director of Christian Education from 1996 until 1998. During her first tenure here, she was responsible for Christian Education for both adults and children, and also was the staff person assigned to the Fellowship and Community Ministry Teams.
After moving with her family to Andover, Massachusetts, she became an active member of South Church United Church of Christ; organized a support and fellowship group for interfaith families like her own; and created Kids Care, a community outreach organization to provide child-friendly volunteer opportunities for parents and children to do together.
Elizabeth has a Ph.D. and M. Phil. degrees in English Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University, a B.A. in English from Baylor University, and has completed course work towards an M.A. in Christian Education at the Virginia Theological Seminary. She and her husband Michael and their two young sons Jackson and Bennett live in Vienna. |
